The ratchet means that the sheave can be locked in place in one direction offering a friction brake against the pull of the sail. It is quick and simple to fit onto a standard 25mm (1”) guard rail stanchion. Adjustment is easy with the stainless steel clamping ring which allows mounting of the block at any angle. The Barton ball-bearing Ratchet Block is designed to be used online up to 10mm (3/8”). The block is a high-performance 55mm (2 3/16”) ratchet block and features a stainless-steel lever that locks the swivel head
